Meet The Team

Tyler Locy

For more than three years, customers at Route 20 Auto Repair have come to know and trust Tyler Locy, who serves as Service Writer and Service Manager.

Tyler grew up in Geneva, OH, and says his love of engines started early. “Always loved working and learning about anything with an engine,” he explains. That curiosity turned into a career in the automotive field, where his strong interest in vehicles has continued to drive him forward.

As Service Manager, no two days are ever the same. Tyler describes his role as “communicating with customers on what repairs are needed and severity of concerns found.” He adds that one of his favorite aspects of the job is “having the ability to have such a skillful staff being able to fix vehicles others cannot.”

Outside of work, Tyler enjoys time with the people closest to him. “I enjoy being outdoors spending time with family and friends,” he says. That sense of connection carries over into his workplace as well. “We are all accomplishing the same goal of providing quality work. We are all like family.”

When it comes to serving customers, Tyler hopes that one thing always stands out: “quality repairs fixed correctly the first time.” The compliments that mean the most to him are about the values he strives to uphold every day. “Being honest and transparent, taking the time to be thorough with customers, making sure they understand the repairs at hand.

It’s honesty, attention to detail, and commitment to quality that make Tyler a trusted face at Route 20 Auto Repair — and a big reason why customers keep coming back.

Cassandra

Almost a year ago, Cassandra joined Route 20 Auto Repair, and since then she’s been a friendly and familiar face—most often at the cashier’s desk, though she notes with a laugh, “whatever I’m assigned to do but normally cashier.”

Cassandra grew up in Puerto Rico until she was 11 or 12, and her path into this career was, as she puts it, “a bit complicated but a little bit of nagging and annoyance goes a long way.” While she says some training helped along the way, she adds, “maybe, but it mostly came naturally.”

When asked why she chose this kind of work, Cassandra shares, “It was time to settle down due to my body pains and aches.” Her daily responsibilities may sound simple, but she sums them up with humor: “telling people to calm down.”

The best part of the job, she says, is the people around her. “I get to hang out with very talented and nice people.” She even recalls a lighthearted “proud moment” from work: “Not paying attention and I ran my head into a hitch on a truck—thank goodness I was wearing my PPE glasses.”

Outside of work, family is at the center of Cassandra’s world. “If you have ever gone to the zoo that’s basically my life in a nutshell,” she jokes. “I like to be with my children and my sister and sometimes my husband.”

Cassandra is bilingual, can do a full cartwheel, and loves visiting Puerto Rico whenever she can. Closer to home, she values being part of a company where “I get to be myself sometimes.”

When customers think of her work, she hopes what stands out is “kindness and honesty.” Some of the nicest feedback she’s received. “That I can actually be serious sometimes.”

Her personal philosophy is one the whole team can appreciate: “Life is too short to be angry at complete strangers—just smile. It may mean the world to someone. Love, peace, and chicken wings.”

Meade Shank Jr.

The problem-solver who brings heart, skill, and hustle to Route 20 Auto Repair

Auto Technician | 2 Years at Route 20 Auto Repair

From Garage Beginnings to Go-To Tech
Growing up in Cleveland, OH, Meade Shank Jr. was introduced to engines early on by his father. What started with taking engines apart in the garage turned into a lifelong passion for automotive repair.

Now, with years of hands-on experience, Meade is a trusted member of the Route 20 Auto Repair team, where his skill and dedication shine every day.

Solving What Others Can’t
Meade’s typical day includes inspections, diagnostics, and repairs — but it’s the challenging, tricky jobs that he loves most.

“I was interested in automotive repair,” Meade says. “I love repairing vehicles that other shops fail to do.”

One of the compliments he’s most proud of came from a customer who had taken her car to three different shops, but no one could figure out what was wrong. “I figured it out in 10 minutes,” Meade remembers with a smile.

More Than Just a Job
When he’s not under the hood, Meade enjoys spending quality time with friends and family. But at work, it’s all about pride in his craft.

“I feel like a family member here, not just a number like at some big corporate place,” Meade says of his experience at Route 20 Auto Repair. This sense of connection drives him to always put accuracy and quality first.

Tim Brown

Technician at Route 20 Auto Repair

For Tim Brown, fixing cars started as a personal necessity. Growing up in Ashtabula, he spent countless hours tinkering with his own vehicles, determined to learn how to keep them running. That early passion turned into a career path nearly three years ago, when he joined the Route 20 Auto Repair team as a technician.

“I’ve always worked on cars that I’ve owned,” Tim said. “I wanted the knowhow to properly work on them — and working here has given me that.” Unlike many in the trade, Tim didn’t take the traditional route through formal schooling. Instead, he learned the craft hands-on at a previous shop, guided by more experienced mechanics who were willing to pass down their
knowledge.

A Day in the Shop
Today, Tim’s typical day revolves around inspections, diagnostics, and getting his hands dirty with the repair work customers depend on. For him, it’s more than just checking boxes — it’s about meeting goals and knowing the job was done right.

“One of the proudest moments for me is whenever I hit my weekly goal and know I’ve put out good, quality work,” he said.

That sense of accomplishment is carried through to his customers as well. He recalls a compliment that stuck with him:
“A customer once told me I worked really fast, and he liked the work I did on his car.”

Outside of work, Tim shares a busy, happy life with his wife, Abby. The couple have been married for nearly three years and shares their home with a lively crew of pets: an English bulldog named Peaches, a black cat named Sage, and a turtle named Maple.

Their summer highlight was building a garden together, where they now spend much of their free time. Tim also enjoys playing basketball, experimenting with new cooking and grilling techniques, and relaxing with video games.

Community service is important to both Tim and Abby. They volunteer each year for the local beach cleanup, and Tim regularly participates in open-gym basketball at the local church.

Favorite Spots Close to Home
When it’s time to unwind, Tim has a list of local favorites he and Abby love to visit. Ruff Life on the Lake and The Loft at Geneva-on-the-Lake are top picks, along with The Farmer Chef Bistro in Geneva. For time outdoors, he enjoys Hogback Ridge Park in Madison.

Teamwork and Quality First
For Tim, the best part about working at Route 20 Auto Repair isn’t just the cars — it’s the people. “The camaraderie we have as a team — we all work really well together,” he said. That teamwork shows in the shop’s reputation for dependable, high-quality service.

When customers think about the work he does, Tim hopes one thing stands out above all: “The quality.”
