Things To Never Ask Your Mechanic

When it comes to the internet and auto repair, we at Route 20 Auto in Ashtabula OH, believe that the two do not mix well together. Nothing beats the experience and knowledge of professionally trained mechanics who have dedicated their lives and careers to the service and repair of your vehicle. You will only receive top-quality treatment when you bring your vehicle into our shop. An auto mechanic’s job is to take care of your vehicle for you, so there is one less thing to worry about in our evergrowing and constantly busy lives. Let Route 20 be that repair shop. Here are some tips/things you should never ask your mechanic.

Can YouTube Help?

Yes, Youtube can be a great place to learn information about more minor repairs for your vehicle, but we would not recommend using Youtube to figure out how to replace an engine. You can figure it out, but it might take some time. Why spend days or even weeks trying to learn every bit of information about your vehicle’s engine when you can bring it to the experts at Route 20 Auto and let us replace your engine with ease? Our job is to make your life as easy as possible when things go wrong with your vehicle. You never have to worry when you have Route 20 in your corner.

Do You Use Customer Supplied Parts?

Where some automotive repair shops will use customer-supplied parts, at Route 20, we do not accept them for one important reason. We believe in the work we perform and can back that with a 2 Years / 24,000-mile Nationwide warranty. If you were to bring the part in, we could not supply you with a warranty on that part. If that part goes bad in a few weeks, it will cost you more to get a new part and replace it than getting the part and labor through your auto repair shop. This warranty is Nationwide, which means if something happened to the part after we performed the service, it would be covered anywhere in the nation. That is why supplying your part is not worth it in the long run.

Do I REALLY Need That?

A good mechanic will never suggest a service that is not needed for the safety or functionality of the vehicle. At Route 20, we view every car issue in two parts: What is needed to fix it? And what else must be done to make sure your car is road-ready? We believe in honest, transparent service, not smoke and mirrors.
